Nice post. Completely agree with everything in it. Here in the UK, despite the law being introduced to prevent motorists from driving with a mobile phone back in 2003, the amount of people you still see on a day to day basis doing it is astonishing. A friend of mine was recently involved in an accident where the person behind her at traffic lights was on a mobile phone and as a result reacted too late and bumped the back of her car. They were both fine, though she's had to pay for a few minor repairs. Thankfully, the road they were on prevented them from driving at a high speed otherwise the accident could have been a lot more serious.
